Vet Suite Volunteer

Our Vet Suite volunteers make a huge contribution to the success of our rehoming centre operations.
What will you be doing?
- administrative tasks that may include email, telephone, scanning, typing, filing and data entry where required
- handling dogs to bring them to the consult room and return them to kennels
- tidy/clean and set up equipment
- sterilise equipment
- making up surgical packs
- stock take/unpacking deliveries and restocking consumables
- taking patients for toilet breaks
- ensure scrubs, surgical drapes and bedding are clean and tidy
- feed patients where needed
- behaviour/feeding observations
- cleaning recovery rooms and kennels between patients
- escalating any concerns about patients in the vet suite to staff
- working closely with the vet, vet nurse and VA to ensure the smooth running of the vet suite.
We're looking for someone with:
- excellent inter-personal skills
- confidence around medical treatments/blood
- a diplomatic approach to problem-solving
- the ability to work comfortably both in a close-knit team and alone
- a conscientious with a can-do attitude
- the ability to follow instructions
- an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
- an interest in dogs and dog welfare
For this role volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
