Volunteer Foster Carers
Our volunteer foster carers provide temporary care for doggos in our care waiting to find a new home, or emergency accommodation for dogs of those fleeing domestic abuse.
Could you foster a dog?
What you'll be doing
By becoming a foster carer you'll be opening your home to a pooch who might not be coping well with kennel life, or simply needs a little extra care. This could include:
- elderly dogs
- nervous dogs
- those who need extra observation due to medical needs
- young dogs who need help with socialisation and adjusting to home life.
We're looking for foster carers who:
- are over the age of 18
- ideally live in a household with no children and no other dogs or cats
- can travel to their local rehoming centre if needed for vet visits or to meet potential adopters
To foster dogs from homes experiencing domestic abuse we additionally are looking for those who:
- have experience caring for dogs
- are at home for most of the day
- don’t have children under the age of 10 at home
- would be available to foster at short notice
- can get to their local vet (you don’t need to drive)
- can commit at least six months to fostering a dog (holiday cover can be provided).
