Big dogs like Mango are feeling invisible.

A gift today could help big dogs feel seen again.

Owning a dog is becoming more expensive. Big dogs like Mango often require more space, food and veterinary care which is why many of them are being overlooked, relinquished and abandoned.

They are feeling invisible and the problem is getting bigger…

Kilo

Kilo an adult black and tan german shepherd looking down at the camera with his tongue out

Poor Kilo was found on the streets before being brought into our care. He must have been so scared and confused, not understanding what he’d done wrong.

Sadly not everyone looking for a dog has the means to take on one of his size, so Kilo finds himself left behind time and time again. That’s why your support is so important.

A gift today can help fund the upkeep and maintenance of our special outdoor enclosures where longer term dogs like Kilo can receive stimulating training and exercise.

Jacob

Jacob an adult tan mastiff type dog, looking at the camera in a hydrotherapy pool

This gorgeous Dogue De Bordeaux came to us at 18 months old from another rescue organisation who struggled to find him a forever home. He must have felt so left behind watching all the other dogs around him meeting their new families.

Jacob was suffering with hip dysplasia – a painful condition much more common in larger breeds, and therefore more expensive to manage. He needs hydrotherapy sessions to help strengthen his muscles and ease any pain.

A gift today could help fund hydrotherapy sessions a dog like Jacob will continue to need even after they’ve been adopted.

Norville

Norville a large cream crossbreed dog sitting in a green field with a female dog carer

Like most other dogs, Norville wants nothing more than a snuggle with a human who loves him, just as he is. But his giant heart was shattered the day he was left behind. Had his size become an inconvenience?

Once in our care, Norville showed signs of discomfort in his back legs. An X-ray indicated that he had mild hip dysplasia. It’s always heartbreaking to think of dogs straying, but it’s even worse knowing they must have been in pain as well. Who knows what might have happened to Norville if we weren’t there to take him in.

Thanks to your donation, Norville can get the treatment he needs to be pain free and live safely without ever feeling like an inconvenience again.

Pudding and Pepper

Pudding a light brown coloured Mastiff cross puppy, standing with a harness and a lead in front of a white backdrop

These adorable Mastiff cross pups came to us as part of an unwanted litter who couldn’t be sold. We typically find homes for puppies straight away, but larger breeds like Pudding and Pepper need a little extra help to get seen.

We don’t know how long it will take before they find their forever home, and at such a young age, it’s crucial they don’t miss out on training, exercise and socialisation.

Your gift can help provide the proper support pups like Pudding and Pepper need to grow and develop into happy, healthy adults.

But as costs rise, hundreds of big dogs are still waiting to be seen.

If you can, please give today so they never have to worry about being too big again.

Thank you

Donations will go towards all areas of Dogs Trust's work and help care for dogs where the need is greatest.
