Recipe: Beetroot biscuits for your best pal-entine

Show your pooch just how much you dig them with this dog-friendly recipe.

Treat your favourite furball to some heartfelt beetroot bites this Valentine’s Day. A love letter is a nice idea, but these yummy biscuits are the real way to their heart. 

You'll need:

  • 30g cooked beetroot  
  • 30g raspberries  
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter (xylitol free) 
  • 130g wholemeal flour 
  • cookie cutter (optional)

What to do:

  1. preheat your oven to 180°C
  2. blend together the strawberries, beetroot and peanut butter  
  3. gradually add flour to the puree to create a dough  
  4. roll out your dough and use a cookie cutter to create your shapes  
  5. place on a lined backing tray and bake for 12-15 minutes  
  6. allow to cool before serving to your four-legged valentine.

When making our recipes, reduce your dog’s usual food portion so they’re not overfed.

Some dogs could have sensitivities to the ingredients, so they may not be suitable for all pooches. If you’re concerned about giving your dog new foods, speak to your vet.
